 Iantech Secures Investment Funding for New Cataract Surgery Technology

Ophthalmic start-up Iantech, Inc. has recently received investment funding from the Global Health Investment Fund (GHIF) and Visionary Venture Fund that will be used to further R&D and commercial efforts for its miLOOP cataract surgery technology.

The miLOOP is a pen-like device that reportedly allows for energy-free lens fragmentation through a minimally invasive clear cornea incision. It reportedly uses a first-in-class nitinol micro-filament technology to fragment the lens for removal through a micro-incision, which helps to make cataract removal more efficient and less invasive.

The miLOOP device is reportedly now commercially available in select U.S. markets and can be used with industry-standard phacoemulsification techniques
