NIDEK Launches OPD-Scan III VS Refractive Power/Corneal Analyzer

NIDEK Co., Ltd. recently announced the launch of the OPD-Scan III VS Refractive/Power Corneal Analyzer — an aberrometer providing optimal and facilitated eyeglass prescription with detailed measurement data.

The device is capable of measuring both corneal shape and refractive error, and can clarify causes of vision difficulties through wavefront analysis of information measured over a wide area. Three types of reports -- basic information, simulation and eye diagram image -- are displayed on a tablet, providing a simple explanation of examination results. And a wide range of display patterns, such as MTF graphs and OPD maps, can be displayed within the reports.

According to NIDEK, the company has received a CE mark on the OPD-Scan III VS Refractive/Power Corneal Analyzer, making it available in the member states of the European union and some additional countries. Also, the OPD-Scan III VS is cleared by the U.S. FDA for sale in the United States. At this moment, the OPD-Scan III VS is not approved in some countries.
