The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO®) was established as a not-for-profit organization in 1969 to offer certification and continuing education opportunities to ophthalmic allied health personnel. JCAHPO offers a series of 1- 2-day continuing education programs across the country each year. Since then, more than 25,000 people in the U.S., Canada, and around the world have earned JCAHPO certification.

Congress deals with the Clinical Debates and Controversial Issues in a Wide Spectrum of Ophthalmologist Conditions.

The growing interest in Oculoplastics and cosmetic surgery and the increase in therapeutic and diagnostic modalities in the field of orbital, eye plastic and lacrimal surgery, make this meeting of particular interest and importance.

The landscape of ophthalmic plastic surgery and the innovations in the field are extremely diverse and wide on one hand and are commonly encountered by general ophthalmologists and eye plastic surgeons on the other hand. This calls for the opinion leaders in the field to gather and discuss and update each other on common topics in this wide field.

Leading experts in our field will present the most recent scientific knowledge and the latest research findings during numerous symposia and courses.

There will be subspecialty days covering the topics of retina, glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery. A comprehensive poster and film program will be featured and will be digitally available at all times.

Symposia address topics with broad, interdisciplinary interest and are balanced with plenary lectures and poster sessions. Researchers from around the world share their latest findings, technical expertise and experience making this a much-anticipated international event.

The Section Organizers are preparing a stimulating scientific program, which will highlight the latest scientific achievements and research covering the fields of Cornea and Ocular Surface, Glaucoma, Lens, Physiology & Pharmacology, Strabismus and Amblyopia, Refraction and Physiological Optics, Retina (Cell Biology and Neurosciences), Immunology & Inflammation and General Eye and Vision Research, with world leaders lecturing in each field.

Vision Correction: Broadening the Development Agenda

The International Centre for Eyecare Education (ICEE) presents the World Congress on Refractive Error and Service Development as an opportunity for the blindness prevention and eye care community to provide leadership, by evaluating current strategies and developing new approaches for this vitally important global public health challenge.

The World Congress is a forum to strategize the eradication of unnecessary vision impairment and discuss the broader development implications of providing eye care in developing communities throughout the world.
