 PGBio Names Winner of Second Annual Innovation in Ophthalmology Award

Point Guard Biosciences, LLC (PGBio) recently announced the project team for the Cornea Dome Lens — including Dr. Bernhard Steger, Dr. Vito Romano and Ms. Giulia Angi — are the winners of the second annual PGBio Innovation in Ophthalmology Award.

The Cornea Dome Lens is reportedly an innovative diagnostic kit designed to capture high resolution photographs of the entire ocular surface. The kit can reportedly be used to diagnose, monitor and prevent corneal and conjunctival pathologies.

Created to assist entrepreneurs in the area of ophthalmology with financial help as well as assistance with strategic planning, this year's winners of the Innovation in Ophthalmology Award will reportedly receive a cash prize of $10,000 and assistance from the PGBio team with the development of a business plan.
