TearScience recently announced the results of a long-term study showing that a single LipiFlow treatment can deliver sustained mean improvement in meibomian gland function and dry eye symptoms through 12 months.
The study — which included 200 subjects — also found at 12 months, 86 percent of patients who had received a single LipiFlow treament did not require additional prescription therapy for dry eye syndrome. Additionally, the study also reportedly found early LipiFlow intervention for meibomian gland dysfunction is associated with improved treatment outcomes.
The findings were recently published in the journal Clinical Ophthalmology.
