ArcScan Delivers First Insight 100 Devices to US Clinics

Late last week, ArcScan, Inc. announced it had delivered the first Insight® 100 devices to U.S. clinics, following its U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance earlier this year.

The Insight 100 is a precision ultrasound device for imaging and biometry of the eye. Dr. William Wiley, medical director of the Cleveland Eye Clinic, is reportedly the first U.S. surgeon to receive the device and he plans to use it for determining effective lens positioning for cataract surgery, implantable contact lenses (ICLs), and epithelial mapping.
