Sightpath Medical Announces Fitness Resources for Ophthalmic Professionals
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – (May 16, 2016) – Sightpath Medical announced the release of a series of fitness articles for ophthalmic professionals. Sightpath is proud to work with more than 1300 surgeons in facilities and practices nationwide. As a partner in their customers’ success, Sightpath periodically provides resources to inspire efficiency and improve workflow.
Frequently, surgeons with whom the company partners express that the demands of case day situations can cause them physical stress, discomfort, strain or worse. In order to deliver on the company’s promise to provide everything a practice needs to be successful, including benefits beyond case day, Sightpath partnered with a personal training professional to create 2 different 3-part collections. Kirk McFarland, CPT, NASM, NSCA, a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach with Life Time Fitness in Eden Prairie, MN, authored the series for Sightpath. “I am happy to collaborate with Sightpath on fitness material for the physicians with whom they partner,” said Mr. McFarland, who has over 20 years’ experience as a personal training professional. “For younger surgeons, this series will be helpful to avoid physical stress or strains associated with the repetitive movements and posture necessary to perform ophthalmic procedures. For those later in their careers, this series can serve as a means to correct or alleviate symptoms they are already experiencing due to the physical demands of their careers.”
The fitness series, titled ‘Restoring Proper Posture,’ is available on the company’s website at SightpathMedical.com/fitness. “These resources are excellent,” said Paul Harton, MD, Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Harbin Clinic in Rome, GA. “The Sightpath series seeks to counter ailments that are definite occupational hazards for ophthalmic surgeons.” Dr. Harton, who also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor for University of Augusta, Medical College of Georgia, added that, “the resources that Sightpath has assembled are valuable because they include active exercises and tips on how to improve posture. I am going to implement them as part of my workout routine.” The company is optimistic that surgeons will find relief thanks to the exercises contained within the series.
