Earlier today, biopharmaceutical company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was named the new title sponsor of the Science Talent Search — reportedly the nation's oldest and most prestigious pre-college science competition.
A program of the Society for Science & the Public since 1942, each year about 1,800 students enter the Science Talent Search by submitting original research in critically important scientific fields of study that are judged by leading experts in their fields. The top 300 entrants are recognized as the top young scientists in the US, while the top 40 candidates are selected as finalists and are invited to Washington, DC to attend a weeklong celebration and compete for top honors.
