Provides double the resolution vs high-end 1080p displays

TrueVision 3D Surgical, the leader in heads-up surgery and integrated applications, announced availability of an ultra high-definition 4K 3D display for the digital platform for surgical microscopes, a unique technology that converts an optical microscope into a powerful digital imaging system.

TrueVision’s latest advancement marks the first in its class to combine a digital microscope platform with a 4K presentation. Available with the Portable Cart or Integrated Unit, the premium monitor can be incorporated into the plan of a new operating room ecosystem or as an upgrade to an existing TrueVision 3D system.

“Immediately the 4K monitor was incredibly impressive. Subjectively, it felt like there was a log order of magnitude improvement in visualization with both eyes having true two megapixel images,” said Christopher Riemann, MD, Director Vitreoretinal Fellowship, Cincinnati Eye Institute. “The detail from the 4K display is so clear that within minutes of initial setup I was operating heads-up. Furthermore, the real-time responsiveness is exceptional.”

Combined with TrueVision’s 5th generation ICM5 camera platform, the 4K display provides a level of image quality and utility not currently available with any other digital system.

“The ICM5 camera and proprietary software along with the 4K capability accurately capture color, dynamic range and resolution better than any other imaging system I’ve used; it’s a perfect pairing of technologies,” said Kevin T. Foley, MD, Professor of Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, Tennessee.

The 4K monitor, available in 55” dimension, is available now.
